Water-wise BreakFree makes incredible savings for Adelaide
Thanks to an environmentally-friendly initiative of BreakFree on Hindley, the city of Adelaide will be saving millions of litres of water from now on.
With the project to install water saving devices at the popular inner-city hotel now complete, the benefits to the environment will begin pouring in.
Audit projections carried out at BreakFree on Hindley reflect significant water and 'flow on' cost savings... and the good news is that these are worked out on conservative occupancy figures of just 68 per cent, so the more guests checking in, the more savings.
With the new devices installed, the amount of water saved from use of basin taps alone is predicted to be more than 1.5 million litres a year.
The combination of 1,556,844 litres saved from basin taps, 738,159 litres saved from kitchen taps and 489,963 litres saved from showers, total an incredible 2,784,966 litres of water saved from being washed down the drain each year.
