Talented Tourism Leader Joins Mantra's Top Ranks
Well known Sunshine Coast tourism figurehead Steve McPharlin has taken a new leadership role with Mantra Group as General Manager of Mantra French Quarter Noosa located on the premier Hastings Street dining and shopping strip.
As part of Mr McPharlin's new role, he is also an Area Manager overseeing Hervey Bay's Peppers Pier Resort, Mantra Hervey Bay, BreakFree Great Sandy Straits, as well as BreakFree and Mantra Rainbow Shores at Rainbow Beach.
Current Tourism Noosa Chairman, as well as owner of renowned Noosaville dining establishment The Boathouse, Mr McPharlin has for years been witnessing Mantra Group's growing successes through its leading holiday accommodation brands Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree.
“It's terrific to be on board with such a professional and talented team at Mantra French Quarter and it's particularly exciting to be joining at this important time – during the property's first year of being upgraded to a Mantra resort from its former BreakFree brand.”
The popular resort on the famous Hastings Street strip opposite the beach recently underwent a $5 million refurbishment as part of the rebranding from BreakFree to Mantra, with improvements including a brand new reception and lobby, a major transformation of One and Two Bedroom Apartments to Deluxe status, and a stylish refreshment of the pool area, gardens and resort exterior.
Mr McPharlin's regional expertise in the tourism arena stands alongside more than 25 years of experience within the hospitality and tourism industry, in which he has worked within both the domestic and international markets. His roles include senior executive positions with companies such as P&O Resorts, Best Western, Voyages Resorts and the Coles Group.
