Following Mantra Group’s recent settlement of the 1,176 room Mantra Ala Moana Hotel in Hawaii, we announce further first quarter hotel signings and development progress.
SOUTHPORT CENTRAL DELIVERS 788 APARTMENTS
In August, Mantra Group settled the acquisition of the Management and Letting Rights for Southport Central, a large-scale residential letting business on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Located in Southport’s business district, just 4.6km from the heart of Surfers Paradise, Southport Central’s three towers add 788 apartments to Mantra Group’s growing residential letting portfolio.
Well timed to coincide with strong residential market conditions in the lead up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Mantra Group’s acquisition of Southport Central is well aligned to the company’s management rights expertise and positioning as the Gold Coast’s largest accommodation operator.
The $700 million Southport Central project was developed by high profile Gold Coast developers, the Raptis Group, and Mantra Group acquired the business from vendors Blue Sky Private Real Estate.
MANTRA ALBURY SIGNALS NEW STANDARDS FOR RIVERINA
Mantra Group is set to operate the NSW Riverina district’s newest hotel when it opens as Mantra Albury Hotel in early 2018. The full-service hotel will offer 158 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar, executive lounge, gym, and large conference facilities, in the heart of Albury’s CBD.
Strategically located at the midpoint between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway, Albury is a key regional commercial and tourism hub with established and varied accommodation drivers.
The city is well supported by a large regional airport and benefits from an impressive major events calendar which attracts significant visitation year round.
To be operated under a long term Hotel Management Agreement, Mantra Albury Hotel will be positioned as the region’s premier corporate, meetings and leisure hotel.
FIRST LOOK AT PEPPERS KINGS SQUARE HOTEL
Next to open in Mantra Group’s pipeline of more than 10 new-build hotels will be the designer Peppers Kings Square Hotel in Perth. Ahead of next month’s opening, the first of the hotel’s stylish guest rooms have been revealed.
The prototype room takes its design cues from rippling city reflections on the Swan River, while a striking carpet design creates a strong visual impression and large bespoke artwork echoes the adjacent dynamic Shafto Lane entertainment precinct.
The 120 room full-service hotel will signal the arrival of the sophisticated Peppers brand in Western Australia and is the latest example of the roll out of the Peppers name in key CBD markets, joining Peppers hotels in Melbourne, Canberra, and Adelaide.
Peppers Kings Square Hotel will be Australia’s tallest prefabricated hotel and will boast a signature restaurant, Stage Kitchen & Bar, Executive Club Lounge, and Perth’s fastest free hotel Wi-Fi.
