PERTH STRIKES GOLD WITH INTERNATIONAL APPEAL SAYS MANTRA
14 May 2013: A burgeoning economy and a healthy dose of year round sunshine aren’t all that makes Perth such an attractive destination. Australia’s most remote capital is emerging as a worthy contender to its east coast counterparts when it comes to international entertainment, divine dining and cultural appeal, says leading Australian accommodation provider Mantra Hotels & Resorts.
With two Mantra apartment hotels in Perth
- Mantra on Murray in the heart of the city, and Mantra on Hay on the eastern side of the CBD – Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, Scott Alderson believes the spotlight on the city as a result of the mining resources boom has helped create an international arts, cultural and dining scene resulting in an even more vibrant destination for tourists.
“We are seeing some world-class acts visiting the city, and a growing food and restaurant scene along with a CBD packed with cultural options, making Perth a premier place to explore for business or leisure travellers.”
World renowned Chef Jamie Oliver obviously agrees, having opened his latest restaurant – Jamie’s Italian – just around the corner from Mantra on Murray.
The international sensation – Cirque du Soleil has also hit town with the critically-acclaimed OVO performances on show until 16 June, while at Perth Arena chart-topping singer Pink! will perform on June 26 and 28.
Mantra on Murray is offering rates from $159 per night in a Queen Studio (valid Friday to Sunday) and Mantra on Hay is offering a two night minimum stay from $249 per night in a two-bedroom apartment (valid Friday to Sunday). Rates are valid through to 20 September, subject to availability. Visit www.mantra.com.au for bookings and details.
Both Mantra hotels are just a short stroll to the Heritage-listed King Street arts and shopping district containing many high-end boutiques for fashion lovers, from the European chic of Gucci, Chanel and Prada to the Australian designer brilliance of Sass and Bide.
The city is also brimming with vibrant nightlife at various clubs and bars and major venues boasting an array of events, such as the Convention and Exhibition Centre, Subiaco Oval, Burswood Casino, the WACA cricket ground, Haig Park, Wellington Square and Queens Gardens.
Mantra on Murray is located at 305 Murray Street at the western end of Murray Street Mall and Mantra on Hay is located at 201 Hay Street a short walk from the WACA cricket ground. Both provide spacious apartment style accommodation with fully self contained kitchens and facilities.
Mantra also has hotels located in regional Western Australia including Mantra Bunbury, a two hour drive south of Perth; and Mantra Geraldton, a short flight or a five hour drive north of Perth. Another Mantra resort near Broome’s famous Cable Beach is due to join the network in July 2013.
