JOB OFFERS: An innovative new recruitment and training program by Mantra Group for Indigenous jobseekers in Cairns has been so successful that it will now be implemented across the broader Tropical North Queensland region. Already, eight Indigenous jobseekers from the program have been retained to work with Mantra Group in Cairns and Palm Cove. Mantra Group hopes to see further success for program participants across many more of its properties throughout Port Douglas, Palm Cove and Cairns. Each jobseeker participating in the program receives a Certificate II in Hospitality and work readiness training, followed by work experience and further training and coaching on Mantra Group properties.


TOP CLASS: New faces in Mantra management are being welcomed throughout the Gold Coast this month beginning with Colin Stevenson joining Mantra Broadbeach on the Park as General Manager - replacing Peter White who has moved on to General Manager of Mantra Heritage, Mantra on the Inlet and Mantra in the Village in Port Douglas. Colin has been EAM/Resident Manager at Mantra Circle on Cavill for the past 18 months, and has enjoyed success in many areas of the operation. Colin will be supported by new Front Office Manager Matthew Knight, transferring from BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort, Coffs Harbour where he has been based since 2006 throughout Food and Beverage Operations, as Duty Manager and as Front Office Manager since 2010. Colin's role at Mantra Circle on Cavill will be filled by Kerry Gribble, from Mantra Sun City and prior to that, Mantra Legends Hotel. Mantra Phoenician at Broadbeach has also appointed Toni Hinton as their new Operations Manager. Toni was previously General Manager at BreakFree Neptune.
