New Team and Unique Venues at Peppers Manor House

A new team at Peppers Manor House is providing a fresh perspective for guests, combining the grandeur of a bygone era with new offerings in dining, conferencing and events. New General Manager Jesse Kornoff now heads up the popular Southern Highlands retreat and brings with him a wealth of hotel experience in Operations and Food and Beverage roles.  This includes a previous role with Peppers Moonah Links on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula as well as Quay West Magenta Shores; the historic QStation and Rydges in Port Douglas, Christchurch and Queenstown. The property has so much history and character to create a memorable stay.  The grounds, the lounges, the Great Hall and Katers Restaurant all provide an amazing ambience for the new team to build a great experience within,” says Mr Kornoff.

“My goal is to have a hatted restaurant focused on local sustainable produce and a hotel recognised for offering an amazing retreat experience.”

Charged with the task of taking Katers Restaurant to the top is new Executive Chef Daniel James – fresh from a 15 year run with Starwood hotels in Sydney, Melbourne and Fiji.  He has set to work creating a new menu, an exclusive high tea offering and a Manor House market garden to capitalise on the rich soils of the Southern Highlands. The Southern Highlands is a foodie’s paradise and my team and I are looking forward to working with the local producers and taking Katers to the next level,” he said. The new menu capitalises on the Southern Highlands wealth of natural produce with its own Manor House garden complemented by an array of mushrooms, truffles, olive oil and ciders sourced within a 35km radius. Beef, lamb, pork and duck are sourced either from the Highlands or neighbouring Picton and Crookwell regions, complemented by a wine list that incorporates local varieties and selections from Australia and New Zealand’s best wine regions.

Drawing on his early career days as a pastry chef, Daniel James has created a spectacular High Tea experience with a modern twist.  A must-try with indulgent treats ranging from a savoury seared scallop and prawn cocktail to a sweet strawberry and Cointreau trifle, and a variety of teas such as Chai Masala, Ceylon Pekoe and Assam Bukhail.  Prices for the High Tea are $35 per person for a traditional high tea served with a choice of teas and coffees or $42 per person traditional high tea served with a glass of Centennial Vineyards Sparkling.

In addition to Katers, Peppers Manor House has also opened a new dining and functions venue – The Stables. Perfect for intimate celebrations and weddings or VIP incentive groups the original Manor House tack room has been lovingly restored to offer a unique venue for up to 20 people.  Peppers Manor House is located on Kater Road, Sutton Forest, 90 minutes south of Sydney.  A Gourmet Food Trail two night package is currently on offer from $345 per couple per night (total minimum spend $690) which includes accommodation, a five-course degustation dinner for two on one night, breakfast daily, local food tasting plate on arrival and a local food trail map for self-drive discovery.  For bookings and enquiries visit www.peppers.com.au/manor-house or phone 61 2 4860 3111.
